Hello there, and welcome! I am grateful that you are popping around the internet, perhaps looking for a therapist or exploring the possibility of counseling, and have landed on BeSpoke. I started this practice out of a desire to continue in my work as a clinician while stepping into a new chapter in life as a mother. Let me take a few moments to introduce myself, personally and professionally, hopefully providing some context for you that can help determine if I might be a good fit for what you are looking for moving forward. 

I am originally from the Pacific Northwest, having grown up in a small town north of Seattle. In 2014, I graduated from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon, with a dual Bachelors in English and Biblical Studies. During my senior year of college, I realized that I was far more interested in working with individuals in a counseling setting, rather than an educational setting (as I intended to pursue a teaching career). In my pursuit of graduate programs, I discovered Eastern University, where I graduated with my Masters in Counseling with an emphasis in Trauma Studies, in 2018. Since then, I have had the honor of working with individuals within the criminal justice system who have sought healing for harmful decisions that they have made, as well as the privilege of working in a more typical outpatient private practice setting with clients that are seeking counseling for a variety of reasons, including healing from trauma, grief, anxiety, and navigating difficult relational dynamics. 

As previously stated, I have recently made the decision to begin my own practice in Lancaster City, as becoming a mother has reoriented my priorities and put into perspective that I value balancing home-life and work-life; starting my own practice has provided me with the opportunity to do both well. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, being outdoors — walking, hiking, reading, as well as drinking coffee, roaming to new places, and enjoying time with friends.
